El voluntariado es una propuesta del acompañar. Surge como posibilidad activa y pedagógica, para fortalecer el desarrollo de los procesos propios que buscan nuestras comunidades. Convocando gente de todos los territorios, nos unimos para co-crear un espacio de abundancia desde el Intercambio Cultural. Participa en el VII Voluntariado de Intercambio Pedagógico del 2 al 11 de julio, 2014. En esta ocasión nos enfocaremos en la continuación de la construcción de la escuela propia de Gunkerun, dentro del resguardo indígena de Businchama, territorio que fue recuperado hace 7 años. Dentro del proceso de recuperación se busca fortalecer el conocimiento propio y dentro de ello, la arquitectura tradicional. Adicionalmente, la comunidad Iku ha manifestado interés en implementar técnicas de construcción que aumenten la vida útil de sus edificaciones, por lo cual desde el Colectivo Talanquera ofrecemos a la comunidad asistencia en torno a diferentes eco-técnicas que lo permitan, tales como; recolección de aguas lluvias, baños secos, etc… A lo largo de los días, se abrirán espacios de compartir en torno al fuego historias tradicionales, danzas, tejido, música, canto… Momentos en los cuales podremos acercarnos íntimamente al saber que ha sido resguardado desde hace más de 7000 años en el territorio de Nauma Keku o bien, la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Igualmente tendremos círculos de palabra algunas de las noches para propiciar un compartir en torno a la experiencia que estaremos viviendo, fortaleciendo así nuestro propósito y relación con nosotros, el territorio y quienes nos acompañan.

During this week we will explore what it means to create and to be community. We will use permaculture principles, permaculture design and practices from indigenous cultures worldwide as our main toolbox. At the same time we will be experiencing community life first-hand in the new eco-community of Haslachhof, which will be our venue, our village and our social landscape to design for and with. We will also be sharing practices of cultural repair as they have been gathered over time by earth-based people worldwide and spread by the 8 shields community. En este taller de un día se enseñará la base para la realización de diferentes productos y poder vivir de una forma sencilla y sostenible. Vamos a trabajar con masa-madre para hornear pan y aprender acerca de diferentes sabores de los panes con hierbas recogidas en el valle. Al mismo tiempo, vamos a dar un paseo en busca de plantas silvestres en el valle para después hacer ensaladas silvestres comestibles. También vamos a recolectar ajenjo para hacer desinfectante natural que se puede utilizar para limpiar la casas. En este curso podremos disfrutar de vivir de una manera más simple y tratar de preparar y comer comida local agradable y vegetariana. Programa de Actividades: Al llegar a Sunseed empezaremos en la cocina para comenzar la preparación de la masa madre. A continuación, realizaremos una caminata de 1-2 horas por el Parque Natural de Los Molinos y aprenderemos de las diferentes plantas y hierbas que utilizaremos durante el resto del día. Prepararemos los moldes de pan y aprenderemos a masar con amor y las técnicas básicas para hornear. Haremos un pesto o ensalada silvestre con las hierbas que recogemos en el valle. Haremos las formas de los panes y aprenderemos acerca de como amasar el pan junto con las bases del horneado. Mount of Oaks/Monte dos Carvalhos has 10 week programs, in Autumn and Spring for 2 to 4 people, who would like to experience community living and deepen their knowledge and experience on off-grid sustainable living…you will also have the challenge to practice your design skills and present to us at least one design of either a new system or improvement of existing ones. The Regeneration process on this 5 hectar piece of land started in 2006, when the land was bought through a divine miracle and many people´s generosity before “crowd funding” was even a concept. The land has no private property as it became part of an Association and residents are guardians and part of the ecossystem. Back when I (Barbara) came here, I could only see plowed fields, a small stone ruin with half roof, some olive trees, some citrus trees and a few pear trees, a tiny little native forest at the top of the hill and a massive pond, and a tiny little forest at the bottom… Thank God, the seed bank needed to begin the restororation was still here, and with many human, animal, fungi and vegetable help, things started to improve… Now I can say it is an abundant, resilient and restored ecossystem 🙂 Our first 5 years were mainly filled with daily tasks, getting to know our neighbours and the region, observing the natural system and praying, as that was our main intention for this place…A refuge of peace, rest, healing and prayer that restores land. To meet this longing the GEN-Africa women leaders have put out a call for a 10-day ‘River of Life Retreat’ at Umphakatsi Ecovillage, on the banks of the Umphakatsi River from 28 March to 7 April 2015. It will empower the women to emerge invigorated and replenished in order to continue and strengthen their work. This conversation will expose the challenges of getting funding on the ground, and explore opportunities to resolve this dilemma.

This ESC program aims to raise awareness on topics related to our daily life. The choices we make, the relationships we create between each other and between man and his environment. During your stay in Ananda Valley you will have the opportunity to explore and expand your skills and passions, learn about nature and how we interfere with it, discover the richness of the different cultures, express your artistic side, develop your own project and much more. It is a two/four months experience, where you will live in a community with people from all around the world, helping to build the dream of a better society.

This is a very basic gathering to give ourselves an opportunity to meet to connect around Summit themes, learnings, realisations and ideas. In particular to support identifying what supports our continued action on climate change. I noticed there was only one HUB in Australia and thought how good it would be to meet anyone local who was participationg in the Summit. This would be a one off meeting. Other connections and arrangements to meet agian may flow from this. Many people in this area are very involved in climate action and community activities already.
