About Me I’m 62 years old, with deep roots in the environmental and regenerative farming movements. I’ve worked in permaculture, started a farmers market, and have spent years as a yoga teacher and sound bath practitioner. I’m a Kundalini yoga teacher and leader in that field, currently living in the Black Hills of South Dakota. A few years ago I went through a divorce, and I’m now exploring relocation — looking for my people: those living in harmony with the land who also hold a spiritual practice, where I can contribute the full range of skills I bring. I care deeply about raising consciousness on the planet and bringing health and wellness to both people and the earth — I consider myself a water protector, and the environment matters enormously to me. I love teaching and education in general. ABOUT THIS COURSE This course aims to equip students to feel confident in their ability to design positive solutions in their gardens, in their communities, and in their own lives. At P3 Permaculture we emphasize that permaculture goes beyond agriculture; permaculture is a holistic design system that we can apply on any scale and in any situation. The first principle of permaculture is “Observe and Interact.” Close observation of the natural principles that drive ecological systems is one of the cornerstones of permaculture. In permaculture we believe that nature knows best, and that designs based on earth’s logic is the best way to heal broken systems. Our curriculum pays particular attention to energy, water, and food systems, as well as various aspects of social permaculture including social economies, and self and community care. The Permaculture Design Certificate is a participatory and dynamic learning experience; classes include in-depth permaculture theory, design methodology, exercises, and group projects. Queremos ofrecer un Curso en el que aprender, experimentar y profundizar en algunos aspectos de la Bioconstrucción, de manera profesional, familiar y cercana al mismo tiempo. La Bioconstrucción es un campo muy amplio, por eso hemos decidido dividir este curso intensivo en 2 Módulos específicos: El Primer módulo es Fuego y Barro, y en el trabajaremos elementos como: Estufas de masa térmica, hornos de leña, estufas rocket, adobe,….. Aprendiendo a construir con materiales sanos y naturales, adaptados a nuestro hogar y necesidades; para obtener una mayor eficiencia, salud y calidez en nuestro hogar y cuidar en medio ambiente al mismo tiempo. EL segundo módulo es Estructuras Vegetales Naturales, y en este trabajaremos la construcción de estructuras tales como: domo geodésico, yurta, techos de cañizo, arcos y columnas de cañas, que pueden ser urilizadas para construcción de pérgolas, invernaderos, sombreados, escenarios y mucho más….; todo ello con materiales locales vegetales: caña y pita (ágave). In this in-depth hands-on workshop you will be applying earthen plaster to the interior and exterior of a Tiny Home, the Cedar Nest, at Wilson Creek Gardens. The Project The Cedar Nest is an on going project that started in 2013 utilizing 95% repurposed materials from a 1920’s home and from the land at WCG. The structure is designed to demonstrate simple construction techniques in a small footprint, 11’x16’. It was in-filled with a straw clay slip last year and now is ready for the walls to receive the final plaster layer. We will be utilizing mostly on-site materials.
